Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

EDITORIAL POLICY

Our policy is as follows:

  1. Manuscript submitted to this Journal must neither be published nor submitted for publication elsewhere either in part or whole.
  2. The authors agree that the copyright of their article is totally transferred to the Editorial Board of this Journal once the article is accepted.
  3. Article(s) submitted will be peer-reviewed before being accepted for publication.
  4. Articles submitted will be subjected to a similarity check. All those above 35% will be rejected outright while those between 20% and 35% will be required to reduce the similarity index before publication.
  5. No part of this publication may be reproduced, stored or transmitted electronically or in any form without permission and consent in writing from the copyright holder.

The Editorial office shall make every effort to ensure that no misleading information or statement appears in this Journal. It is, however, the sole responsibility of the author(s) for all data and information provided with regards to accuracy. The Editorial Board and its agents shall accept no responsibility or liability whatsoever for the consequences of any misleading data and/or information provided by the author(s) which shall be published in FEES.

Preparation of Manuscript and Content

Manuscripts should be prepared using font size 12 in Times New Roman on A4 size paper, double-spaced, and with margins of 1.5cm on either side and 2.5 cm on top and bottom. Make sure the manuscript has a page number and should not exceed 20 pages. Authors should ensure they write in good English which should be spell-checked and well-checked for grammatical errors of English usage.

Title

The title page should contain the title of the paper in font size 14, bold, and capitalized. The author(s) information should follow which include name(s), institutional affiliation(s), e-mail, and postal addresses. Names should contain a superscript number at the end while affiliations will have it in front of the respective address. A star (*) superscript should indicate the corresponding author's email. 

Abstract                  

An abstract of not more than 250 words is required to be followed with 4 to 6 keywords below it. 

Main Content

The manuscript should have necessary section headings which include Introduction, Study Area, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion and Recommendations, Acknowledgement, Conflict of Interest, and References. Figures and Tables should appear in numerical order cited within the body of the text with titles and sources appearing in bold. Titles of tables should be at the top of the tables while that of figures should be below. All sources are to remain below the tables and figures. All other illustrations other than figures and tables should be labeled and numbered consecutively. 

Citation in the text

Authors are required to use citations within the text which comprise the name(s) of the author(s) and year of publication. Complete information about each source cited should be supplied in the reference list. Below are the adopted in-text citations for different types of authors

One author: the surname of the author to be followed by year of publication. For example, Yahaya (2021) as a narrative citation or (Yahaya, 2021) as a parenthetical citation.

 Two authors: use surnames of authors and year. For example, Abaje and Yahaya (2021) as narrative citation or (Abaje & Yahaya, 2021) as parenthetical citation.

Three or more authors: Use the surname of the first author followed by et al. and year of publication. For example, Rabiu et al. (2020) as narrative citation and (Rabiu et. al., 2020) as parenthetical citation. 

If several works are used for a particular citation within the text, they should be organized chronologically. 

References

The American Psychological Association (APA) style of referencing is allowed and should be presented alphabetically. The surname(s) of the author(s) is to be followed by the initials.
